Central Fire Station Project
Bush Construction is thrilled to have been involved in the City of Davenport’s Central Fire Station project from the beginning. The City has been waiting for a long time to build a new facility, offering a larger space to accommodate their needs.
“For over 100 years, the firefighters have been functioning out of that old station,” explains Fire Chief Lynn Washburn. “Many people were in one office. In our new space, we have more room including a kitchen to prepare meals and plenty of room for the firefighters to do their documentation and computer work, as well as the functionality of getting to the firetrucks.”
The new station will allow for more efficiency and effectiveness for the fire crews, including additional space for the fire trucks as well as the firefighters.
“Bush Construction has been fantastic,” says Washburn. “They are overseeing every facet. Our site supervisor is wonderful and is on top of everything, sharing information with us. Bush is great about keeping us informed, keeping an eye on our budget and keeping everything on track. We found out very quickly that the construction-manager model that Bush utilizes was the way to go for this station!”
During the request for proposal process, the Bush Construction team provided a cost-competitive and high quality proposal to manage the project. Based on the strength of that proposal, our knowledge of the community, our history of providing services to the City of Davenport and our experienced team, Bush was awarded the project.
“The Bush team members have become our friends. They are all right with us, responding to our questions. We couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to work with!”
