A.J. Loss, President/CEO

As President/CEO of Bush Construction, A.J. Loss provides strategic direction, develops client and vendor relationships, and acts as a unifying team leader. A.J. believes that effective communication is the key to lasting relationships and successful projects.

Loss served an enlistment in the United States Navy before earning his Construction Engineering degree from Iowa State University. He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Iowa. In 2008, he became a USGBC-LEED Accredited Professional. In 2009, he earned the Designated Design-Build Professional™ certification.

Loss is very active in the Quad-Cities community. He serves as Chair of Our Savior Lutheran Church’s Building and Grounds Committee, Chair of the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of the Quad Cities, Chair of the Master Builders of Iowa (MBI), Vice Chair of Bridge Investments, Vice Chair of the Development Association of Rock Island (DARI), a Finance Committee Member and ROC Member of the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce and an Architectural Review Committee Member of Greater Davenport Redevelopment Corporation (GDRC). He is a member of Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) and the Davenport Rotary Club.


Jerod Engler, Vice President of Construction

Jerod Engler, Vice President of Construction, manages the company’s Superintendents, Foremen, and carpenter group. He oversees warehouse operations, manages tools and equipment, coordinates field staff, and leads Bush Construction’s safety program and quality control programs. He also plays a key role in business development efforts with his leadership in the company’s pre-construction operations.

Engler earned his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management with a minor in Business Management from the University of Northern Iowa. He has also completed a four-year carpenter apprenticeship training program. Engler is an experienced member of the Quad-Cities construction industry. In 2009, he became a USGBC-LEED Accredited Professional.

Engler is active in the Quad-Cities community. He is a member of Young Professionals Network and the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce.


Rob Davis, Vice President of Operations

Rob Davis, Vice President of Operations, manages Project Managers, Project Engineers, Project Coordinators, and Interns. He also manages Bush University, a skill-based employee training program exclusive to Bush Construction, and oversees many other company initiatives.

Davis earned his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology Management with an emphasis in Building Construction Management and a minor in Drafting and Design from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. In 2008, he became a USGBC-LEED Accredited Professional, and in 2010, he attained the designation of Certified Professional Estimator through the American Society of Professional Estimators.

Davis is an active member of the Quad-Cities community. His many affiliations and activities include the American Society of Professional Estimators QC Chapter #71 and the American Institute of Constructors, as well as being a former Hampton School District #29 Board of Education member, Rock Island County Pheasants Forever Chapter #357 habitat and youth chair, and a coach of various youth sports teams.
